Romski Čačak

History

A Balkan Rom dance. I learnt this from Michael Ginsburg in 1998.

Rhythm

The music has an even, 4/4 rhythm.

Steps

Start in a line, arms in a V hold, facing to the right.

Touch in front with the right foot, then step onto it. Repeat with the left, then again with the right.

Turn to face centre and step across behind with the left foot.

Turn to face left and step back with the right foot.

Repeat all of this to the left, starting with the left foot, but end up facing centre.

Cross the right foot in front.

Replace the left in place.

Cross the right foot behind the left.

Turn to face right and step forward with the left.

Music

From a workshop tape supplied by Michael Ginsburg.
