Dzangurica

History

A Macedonian (Bulgarian?) dance, a variation of Skudrinka.

Rhythm

The dance is in an even 4/4 rhythm, all the steps are the same length.

Steps

Start in a line, arms in a W hold, facing the the right.

Lift the right foot, then step forward on the right, repeat with the left.

Turning to face centre lift the right, then close beside the left.
Touch the left heel in front, then the toe, then the heel, then the toe.
Step forward with the left, then replace the right.
Repeat this with the opposite feet.

Lift the right foot, then close beside the left.
Let the left foot go out to the side and close (on the beat).
Replace the right.
Repeat this with the opposite feet.
