A dance from Albania.
The music is in an even 4/4 rhythm.
Start in an open circle in a W hold, facing right. All the steps are the same length apart from the 'double bounces'.
Take three steps forward, starting with the right, then lift the left foot in front.
Bend the right (standing) leg so that the whole body lowers while keeping the left leg
extended in front, then straighten the right leg.
Step back with the left foot, then tuck the right ankle behind the left knee.
Do the first part four times.
Turn to face centre and step slightly across in front with the right foot. Touch the left
toe to the side while making two quick bounces on the standing leg. Repeat this 'cross and
double bounce' starting with the left foot, then do it again starting with the right.
Step slightly across in front with the left, then tuck the right ankle behind the left
knee.
Do the 'cross and double bounce' but cross behind this time, moving back out from the centre.
Do it three times, starting with the right.
Step slightly across behind with the left, then turn to face right while tucking the right
ankle behind the left knee.
Just do the second part once.
The dance sequence matches the music, there is a different tune for the first and second parts.
Ani More Nuse from
Fire in the Feet by
Xenos.
This track has a solo in the middle that breaks up the dance
sequence. I usually change to a simple čoček at this point and return to the
dance when the music changes back to the original melody.
